General Group Classes
Length: 8 hours. (Offered in 1, 2, or 4 sessions)
Education in a group setting has been proven to be the most effective way to learn for most people. Your education includes basic pathophysiology of diabetes, diabetes medications, importance of exercise, weight loss, meal planning, carbohydrate counting, portion sizes, foot care, behavior change and acute and chronic complication. A blood glucose meter can be provided during class through Superior Orthodics and Prosthetics. Advanced Nutrition
Length: 2 hours.
This course is designed for those who have completed basic diabetes self-management education. You will receive guidance to make healthy restaurant and fast food choices as well as tips on grocery shopping, information on supplements and herbs, discussion of glycemic index and more. This class builds on previous knowledge from applying diabetes education to every day nutrition and provides you with a revised meal plan.

Beyond the Basics
Length: 2 hours.
You have been living with diabetes and now need more advanced information to gain better control of your blood sugars and your life. This class will assist you in over coming barriers to reaching your goals. Compare your latest lab AIC blood test, tightening blood sugar control, getting best results from your excercise activity, managing stress and overcoming barriers.
