Vending machines are also located in this area, in the main hallway near the “B” elevators, in the fifth floor waiting room and the Internet Café in the obstetrics unit on the seventh floor.

Does the hospital offer wireless service?
Yes. Patients and guests can access the Internet through Baptist Hospital’s high-speed wireless network, which is available from anywhere in the hospital. You will need your own laptop with standard Internet browser and Wi-Fi capability along with a proper operating system (Windows 98, 2000 or XP, Mac or Linux).

Where is the Chapel?
The Virgil & Nancy Moore Family Chapel and C.M. Curb Sanctuary is located off of the lobby at the 21st Avenue Entrance of the hospital, near the Patient Pick-Up. The Chapel is always open. Worship services are held every Wednesday at noon and the service is televised in patient rooms. Everyone is welcome. A prayer room is also located adjacent to the Chapel and is meant to be a place of comfort for all faith traditions.
Can visitors order the "At Your Request" room service while visiting their friends and family in patient rooms?
Yes, for an additional cost. Instructions can be found on the menus in patient rooms.
Is your visitor parking free?
Yes, always. You can park in the 21st Avenue Garage or 20th Avenue Garage. The Mid-State Medical Center garage offers free parking for obstetrics patients only.
Is there Valet Parking?
Yes. Free valet parking is available at the 20th Avenue entrance to the hospital Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Are there pay phones here?
Phones are available for visitor use and located on the first floor near the "B" elevators across from the women’s restroom. Dial "9" to get an outside line. Long distance calls can be made by dialing "0" and asking an operator to assist you.
Is there a fitness center I can use?
Yes, the Wellness Center is located in Baptist Medical Plaza II on the basement level. Free shower/guest passes are offered through the Wellness Center to patients’ family members. Call 615-285-BFIT for more information. The Wellness Center hours are: Monday to Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Center is closed on Sunday.
Are pets allowed to visit patients?
On some occasions, check with your nurse first.
Where can I get a newspaper or magazine?
The Tennessean is sold at the Main Information Desk at the 20th Avenue entrance and in racks near the "B" elevators in the main hallway. Magazines are sold in the Gift Shop.
Where can I buy stamps?
Stamps can be purchased in the Gift Shop located near the Baptist Bistro Cafeteria and “B” elevators in the main hallway on the first floor of the hospital. It is open Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Gift Shop phone number is 615-284-7285.

Do patient rooms have cable TV? Yes, we offer many cable channels – and some rooms have newer flat screen TVs.
Do the rooms have VCRs or DVD players?
All patient rooms have a large high definition television and has a port to hook up your personal DVD player. Rooms located in the labor and delivery unit have access to a VCR/DVD player and the postpartum unit rooms have a DVD player.
Is there a Pastoral Services Department?
Yes. The Pastoral Services staff includes five chaplains, 10 chaplain volunteers and one full-time resident, who are of varying faith traditions. They are available on-site Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on weekends from 1 to 9:30 p.m. A chaplain is always on-call. Are children allowed on the patient floors?
Children are allowed on most units. Children must be 12 or older to visit the intensive care units, unless special arrangements are made.

It is located in the Emergency Department on the 20th Avenue side of the hospital.

Yes, please call the Foundation Office at 284-8211.

Yes, the Serenity Garden is an outdoor spaced created as a place for patients, families and associates to find peace and tranquility. It is located on the first floor of the hospital near the Gladys Stringfield-Owen Education Center.
Where can I smoke on the Baptist Hospital campus?Baptist Hospital is a tobacco-free campus. Smoking or the use of tobacco-related products is prohibited in every area of our campus, indoors and outdoors.
What are the visiting hours?
Visitors are always welcome at Baptist Hospital. Visiting hours are limited in our Medical Intensive Care Unit, NeuroSurgical Intensive Care Unit and Critical Care Unit. Visits to these units are limited to 30 minutes beginning at 9:30 a.m., noon, 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Children must be 12 or older to visit these areas of the hospital, unless special arrangements have been made.

Waiting areas are conveniently located throughout the hospital in the Emergency Department, third floor Obstetrics Waiting Room, fourth floor Surgery Waiting Room, fifth floor Family Waiting Room and seventh floor Comprehensive Surgery Center.
